Job Scope:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a scientific peer and primary conduit between the company and the healthcare community/medical experts (KMEs). Partners with Clinical Operations, Global Medical Affairs, and field teams to optimize trial site selection and patient recruitment, provide “voice of the customer” insights for lifecycle strategy, and ensure aligned clinical/business understanding. This role should be based in an area that complements the existing team.

Responsibilities:
- Peer-to-peer relationship management with KMEs and healthcare decision-makers in territory.
- Deliver fair, evidence-based clinical presentations and lead deep-dive discussions on disease states and therapeutic pipelines.
- Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses and synthesize new clinical breakthroughs.
- Capture and communicate “voice of the customer” insights (treatment patterns, unmet needs) to inform Global Medical Strategy.
- Support clinical trials: identify potential trial sites, facilitate recruitment, and serve as liaison for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Identify opportunities for real-world evidence (RWE) generation.
- Provide internal therapeutic area expertise and clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial.
- Serve as primary field medical strategic lead for territory; translate global plans into local tactics.
- Provide real-time competitive intelligence; disseminate on-label educational/scientific/clinical information.
- Execute pre-launch scientific readiness plans (disease-state priming; address clinical knowledge gaps ~24 months prior to approval).
- Ensure field insights influence lifecycle management, disease area/brand strategy, and clinical development priorities.
- Develop territory engagement plans using analytics/CRM; conduct omnichannel engagement; ensure compliance with global/local standards (e.g., PhRMA Code).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD/PharmD/MD) preferred.
- 3–5 years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs.
- Strong drug information communication, project management, interpersonal/oral/written communication, relationship-building, administrative management, teamwork.
- Takes seriously relevant policies/procedures; self-starter with initiative; valid driver’s license in good standing.

Compensation/Benefits:
- Starting base pay range: $144K–$198K (based on factors including skills/experience/education/location). Eligible for annual bonus and/or sales incentive plan.
