Job Scope:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a scientific peer and primary conduit between the company and healthcare community/KMEs. Partners with clinical operations to optimize trial site selection and patient recruitment, provides Global Medical Affairs with “voice of the customer” to refine lifecycle strategies, and serves as a scientific resource for cross-functional field colleagues—especially with a Gastroenterology/Hepatology focus.

Responsibilities:
- Cultivate long-term peer-to-peer scientific partnerships with KMEs and healthcare decision-makers.
- Provide fair, evidence-based clinical presentations and lead deep-dive scientific discussions.
- Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses; synthesize key breakthroughs.
- Capture and communicate “voice of the customer” insights on treatment patterns and unmet needs.
- Support clinical trials: identify trial sites, facilitate recruitment, and liaise for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Identify opportunities to generate Real-World Evidence (RWE).
- Serve as therapeutic area expert; provide clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial.
- Lead territory strategy by translating global plans into local tactics and providing competitive intelligence.
- Provide on-label scientific/clinical education where appropriate.
- Execute pre-launch readiness plans ~24 months prior to approval.
- Use data analytics/CRM to build and execute a Territory Engagement Plan.
- Use omnichannel engagement (virtual platforms/social listening) in addition to in-person.
- Ensure activities comply with applicable standards.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; PhD/PharmD/MD preferred.
- 3–5 years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs.
- Demonstrated drug information communication, project management, and strong administrative management.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; strong relationship-building (research community); team-oriented.
- Takes seriously relevant policies/procedures; motivated self-starter.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
