Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the Midwest (Neuro) serving Missouri, Indiana, Illinois or Idaho. You will act as a scientific ambassador, connecting research with healthcare professionals to drive patient outcomes in neuroscience. Focused on building relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and research centers, you will provide clinical and scientific expertise and support strategic medical initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and centers of excellence aligned with Acadiaโ€šร„รดs Medical Affairs and Development objectives.
  • Engages thought leaders to align interests, discuss research and medical information, and participate in scientific exchange and education about current and emerging therapies.
  • Provides Phase 2 / 3b / 4 trial site support and investigator-initiated research proposal cultivation and facilitation.
  • Develops and maintains scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise for Acadiaโ€šร„รดs portfolio.
  • Cross-functionally collaborates with regional field leadership partners while adhering to compliance guidelines.
  • Provides strategic field insights and identifies disease concepts and compound characteristics for product differentiation.
  • Provides scientific, clinical, and educational support for internal and external clients.
  • Represents the company at continuing education events, medical meetings, and conventions.
  • Supports Commercial operations by participating in Speaker and Sales Representative Training.
  • Partners with internal departments to ensure accurate delivery of medical and scientific information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: PharmD, PhD, MD/DO or DNP in a related field.
  • Required: 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Preferred: Previous MSL experience.
  • Preferred: Psychiatry or neurology experience.

Skills

  • Scientific, clinical, and therapeutic area expertise.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, commercial, and clinical issues affecting the pharmaceutical and managed care industries.
  • Effective presenter of scientific information with strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparation and review of materials for Medical Affairs, including promotional materials.
  • Knowledge of customer segments and market dynamics.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across levels and functions.
  • Negotiation and influencing abilities; independent and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills and drug information expertise.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with residence within the geographic area or near a major airport.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical requirements include regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands; may lift up to 20 pounds; ability to travel overnight as needed.
