Medical Science Liaison (MSL) — CNS (Psychiatry), field-based position covering the Massachusetts territory.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and maintain clinical and scientific relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) and Developing Thought Leaders (DTLs) (physicians, NPs, pharmacists, researchers).
- Act as a conduit to investigators and key organizations for research collaborations.
- Engage with clinical investigators to support Alkermes sponsored studies.
- Attend and provide Medical Affairs support at scientific conferences.
- Provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information.
- Provide clinical presentations and educational information in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
- Share field insights with internal colleagues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral level preferred in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research, Nursing, or Public Health (e.g., Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D., DNP).
- 1–3 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience preferred; or relevant clinical/medical/research experience.
- Understanding of Medical Affairs and the department’s role in drug development and commercialization.
- Product launch experience (plus).
- CNS therapeutic area experience (desired).
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills and innovative attitude.
- Willingness to travel ~65% within the assigned territory, to conferences, and to the home office.
- Flexible to changing priorities; detail-oriented; works well under pressure.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Annual base salary: $180k–$190k. Performance-based bonus target and eligibility for long-term incentive program. Competitive benefits package.
