Role Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) works under the Area Director, Field Medical Affairs to develop and maintain professional relationships with key medical experts within the territory. The role primarily supports the Viridian TED program, exchanging scientific information in a fair and balanced manner and providing clinical/scientific support for Viridian clinical trials. This is a remote role with the ideal candidate based in San Francisco, Seattle, or Portland to support a defined territory, and requires domestic travel.
Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders in the TED space, using strategic mapping and territory planning to deliver value-aligned scientific support
- Serve as a primary resource for clinical and scientific information related to ViridianβΓΓ΄s science, research, and products
- Present accurate, fair and balanced scientific information to medical and scientific communities, including at medical conferences and Viridian-sponsored meetings
- Respond to requests for scientific or medical information using approved materials
- Ensure the execution of strategic field medical affairs plans and initiatives
- Develop and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and communicate trends to internal stakeholders
- Communicate clinical and research insights to internal stakeholders through clear, compliant, and scientifically accurate exchanges to support strategic alignment
- Develop an understanding of the TED treatment landscape and specialties involved in patient care
- Ensure precise documentation and timely reporting of MSL activities per established protocols and compliance requirements
- Ensure all activities comply with company policies, SOPs, OIG, ACCME, PhRMA guidelines and policies
Qualifications
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, OD, PA, DNP, MSN)
- At least 3βΓΓ¬5 years of experience in an MSL role
- Launch experience preferred
- Experience in a start-up environment preferred
- Excellent presentation skills required
- Ability to work independently and as an initiative-taking team player, adaptable to change
- Comfortable working in ambiguous situations
- Strong commitment to ethical standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to travel 60βΓΓ¬75% of the time
Education
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree as listed above (PharmD, PhD, MD, OD, PA, DNP, MSN)
