Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Neuropsychiatry (Virginia/West Virginia)
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic/community thought leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR-related questions via 1:1, group presentations, and remote channels.
- Use scientific resources effectively; present accurate, compliant information and respond to questions.
- Assess the medical landscape by understanding stakeholder needs/expertise; stay current on treatment strategies, products, unmet needs, clinical trials, and health economics/outcomes.
- Identify partnership opportunities with HCPs for disease state initiatives, collaborative research, and investigator-sponsored research (ISR) aligned to BMS objectives.
- Attend medical congresses/meetings; provide medical insights back to medical and commercial teams.
- Build geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans; contribute to institution/account plans.
- Support medical/scientific training and provide scientific updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support clinical trial activities (interventional/non-interventional): site identification, feasibility insights, ISR support, pharmacovigilance document adherence and adverse event escalation, and support CRO-sponsored studies.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, PA-C, etc.) AND 3β5+ years MSL or clinical practice experience.
- Current MSL or clinical experience in psychiatry/mental health/schizophrenia with proven track record establishing and maintaining collegial relationships with external experts.
Knowledge/Experience Desired
- Disease area/publications, clinical trial design/process, national healthcare/access environment, HEOR concepts; strong English communication.
- 3β5+ years MSL and/or clinical practice; independent, team-oriented; translate data for physicians; peer-to-peer thought leader/HCP relationship building; quickly learn new areas.
Essential Qualification
- Ability to drive a company-provided car; ethical, integrity, and safe driving history.
Travel Requirement
- Field-based; live within territory or within 50 miles of borders; majority time in field with external customers.
