Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison, Neurodegeneration in Ohio/Western PA. The MSL engages in scientific exchange to enhance education, data generation, insights, and patient access to medicine, focusing on neurodegeneration within a defined geography.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders within a given geography to address scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR questions. Use various interaction channels.
• Present information to TL/HCPs with scientific accuracy, complying with local guidelines and directives.
• Assess the medical landscape by engaging TLs/HCPs/Access Stakeholders, updating knowledge on treatment strategies, trials, health economics, and market dynamics; prepare to address informational needs.
• Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease-state initiatives, collaborative research, and ISR aligned with BMS objectives.
• Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings; communicate insights to medical and commercial teams to support strategy and decisions.
• Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans; contribute to cross-functional plans; deliver scientifically meaningful medical programs.
• Establish collaboration with cross-matrix field teams; provide medical updates to internal stakeholders as needed.
• Support medical aspects of promotional meetings, evaluate speakers, and assist BMS-contracted speakers when applicable; participate in Congress activities.
• Support Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (ISR/NIR) activities to facilitate recruitment and safe use of investigational products; provide site feasibilities and insights to clinical development.
• Assist HCPs in ISR submission and execution; ensure proper pharmacovigilance processes are understood and followed; support CRO-sponsored studies as defined.

Qualifications

• Required: MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with neuroscience or broad medical/pharmaceutical experience.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in clinical/pharmaceutical environment; prior MSL experience preferred.

Skills

• Disease area knowledge and ability to understand scientific publications; familiarity with clinical trial design and process; knowledge of HEOR concepts; understanding of national healthcare and access environments.
• Excellent English communication (spoken/written); ability to translate complex data into meaningful information for physicians.
• Strong presentation and relationship-building skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; capable of quickly learning new subject areas.

Education

• MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP credential required as noted above.

Additional Requirements

• Travel required. Field-based role; must live in the territory or within 50 miles of its borders. Time in the field with external customers; additional territory-based requirements may apply.
• Ability to drive a company-provided car is essential; high ethics and safe driving history required.
