Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role focused on Neuro-Oncology, supporting field-based engagement in the Western region (West) with remote work options. Responsible for building relationships with key opinion leaders, providing medical information, and supporting Medical Affairs initiatives within oncology and related therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers within the therapeutic area.
  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with US Medical Affairs plans.
  • Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from KOLs to appropriate departments.
  • Participate in medical education for healthcare professionals through on-site presentations at healthcare institutions, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, or regional meetings.
  • Provide scientific support for activities such as medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy area, Jazz products, emerging research, and competitive landscape.
  • Establish reputation as a trustworthy source of scientific and medical information; attend scientific congresses to support KOL activities.
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions in various settings.
  • Communicate emerging data and clinical experience through scientific exchange and peer-to-peer interactions.
  • Support data generation activities (company-sponsored studies, collaboration studies, ISTs).
  • Contribute to Medical Plan development and plan execution; collaborate cross-functionally to align scientific engagement with organizational objectives.
  • Interact with HCPs as a scientific resource to support activities aligned with the Medical Plan, including advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials.

Qualifications

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
    • Excellent planning and organization with attention to detail.
    • Strong strategic mindset; highly self-motivated and autonomous.
    • Ability to learn quickly, be flexible, and stay results-focused in a changing environment.
    • Excellent negotiation skills; interpersonal relationship building; collaboration and teamwork.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with commercial teams while maintaining scientific integrity and compliance.
    • Strong digital platform and tool capabilities; excellent spoken English.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience supporting product launches in a field medical capacity.
    • Experience managing multiple molecules or therapeutic areas; ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
    • Track record of clinical trial site support and site engagement with investigators.
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.

Education

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) with at least 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease.
  • Licensed professional (RN, NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) with Masterโ€™s Degree and at least 5 yearsโ€™ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease clinical practice.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an MSL or comparable role.
  • Experience in neuro-oncology strongly preferred.
  • Field travel: willingness to travel 60โ€“70% of the time.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and residence within 60 miles of a major airport.
