Job Description Summary:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based Medical Affairs role supporting and representing PTC and its products with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, academic institutions, and professional organizations.

Responsibilities:
- Attend national/regional medical meetings and symposia; present and summarize scientific findings; cultivate professional relationships.
- Deliver fair, balanced, objective clinical/scientific presentations to HCPs, payors, and patient organizations in response to unsolicited information requests.
- Identify speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs using regulatory-approved materials.
- Support regional medical initiatives (e.g., advisory boards).
- Provide input to management on competitive therapies, business development opportunities/risks, and market insights.
- Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs, academic institutions, payors, patient organizations, and health authorities.
- Facilitate timely applications for unrestricted educational grants and research initiatives per policy.
- Maintain awareness of medical/clinical, regulatory, compliance, and quality requirements and adhere to company standards.
- Maintain competitor and therapeutic-area intelligence; analyze and communicate data/impact internally.

Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP, MSN, MS, Registered Dietician, or Genetic Counselor) plus 2+ years as MSL or equivalent.
- Experience supporting orphan products and/or rare disease/inborn errors of metabolism/genetics; Phenylketonuria preferred.
- Experience with high-cost specialty pharmacy products and patient access coordination.
- Proven ability to interpret scientific data and present to scientists/HCPs.
- Strong communication (including scientific/technical writing) and knowledge of pharmaceutical delivery.
- Ability to influence without authority; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Independent and collaborative work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Analytical/problem-solving, planning, organization, and time management.
- Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle with active insurance; ability to travel daily to/from accounts and drive/fly long distances.
- Overnight travel; daily entry to hospitals/medical facilities and compliance with vendor credentialing (training, background check, immunization).

Preferred (Special Knowledge/Skills):
- Experience supporting orphan/rare disease and/or specialized drugs.

Travel Requirements: 50–60%.

Base Salary Range: $153,000–$199,200.
