Role Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Lung Oncology in the New England region is a field-based scientific liaison responsible for delivering fair, balanced, objective information to health care professionals and internal partners. The role focuses on building and maintaining a territory plan, engaging with key opinion leaders, enabling external research discussions, and supporting company research initiatives while complying with regulatory and healthcare guidelines. Travel to cover the New England geography is required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates strategic territory planning and builds strong relationships within the territory with effective data delivery
  • Establishes community and academic opinion leader partnerships and conducts scientific exchange with community and institutional HCPs
  • Responds to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, and academic medical centers, integrating scientific data including real-world evidence
  • Presents data and information in a manner appropriate to the audience and request
  • Executes reactive and proactive outreaches as approved through compliance processes
  • Integrates scientific data into real-life practice to meet customer/audience needs, adapting communication style accordingly
  • Anticipates responses of various individuals and teams based on vantage point
  • Listens for and collects medical insights and submits them for analysis
  • Executes Research Initiatives: facilitates external-internal research communication, engages with external investigators, and provides clinical trial support to identify sites and participate in meetings (e.g., site initiation visits, investigator launch meetings)
  • Maintains a strong scientific acumen: participates in journal clubs, self-driven learning, and attends scientific conferences; documents and shares medical insights
  • Supports Department Operations and Internal Partners: performs administrative tasks, supports regional training initiatives, and collaborates with field-based partners and other Oncology MSL teams

Qualifications

  • Required: PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree (e.g., NP, PA)
  • Required: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience (clinical, research, or related pharma)
  • Required: Significant experience giving presentations
  • Required: Ability to travel up to 60% (including overnight travel and some weekend commitments)
  • Required: Valid U.S. driverβ€šΓ„Γ΄s license and clean driving record
  • Required: Residence within the defined territory or eligibility for relocation
  • Preferred: Knowledge or experience in Oncology
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies
  • Preferred: Prior experience as an MSL
