      Role Summary
Medical Science Liaison, Dermatology in West PA and West NY. Embodies the medical mission to be a trusted partner for internal stakeholders and the healthcare community, driving scientific exchange to enhance medical education, data generation, insights, and patient access to medicine. Identifies disease and product-related medical needs within a defined geography and builds relationships with Thought Leaders and Healthcare Providers to facilitate research and ensure safe, appropriate use of BMS medicines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders within a geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR related questions. Interact via 1:1, group presentations, remote, etc.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using scientific resources and presentations; present information to TL/HCPs, respond to questions with medical accuracy and compliance.
- Assess the medical landscape by meeting with TL/HCPs/Access Stakeholders; continuously update knowledge on treatment strategies, products, unmet needs, clinical trials, HEOR, and scientific activities; understand competitive landscape and evolving healthcare models.
- Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives, collaborative research projects, and investigator-sponsored research aligned with BMS objectives.
- Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings; provide meaningful medical insights to support strategy development and business decisions.
- Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans; contribute to cross-functional institution/account plans; deliver scientifically meaningful medical programs.
- Establish a customer-centric, compliant collaboration with cross-matrix field teams; provide medical updates to internal stakeholders; support promotional meetings with scientific data and speaker evaluation; participate in congress activities.
- Support Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies; assess study sites; provide recommendations on study feasibility; support ISR submission and execution; ensure proper pharmacovigilance application and alert if adverse events occur; support CRO-sponsored studies as defined by scope.
Qualifications
- Required Experience: MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a disease area or broad medical/pharmaceutical background.
- Knowledge: Disease area knowledge, understanding of scientific publications, clinical trial design/process, national healthcare and access environment, HEOR concepts; excellent English, both spoken and written.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in clinical/pharmaceutical environment; prior MSL experience; ability to work independently and as a team; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate scientific data for physicians; develop peer-to-peer relationships; quick learner; demonstrate BMS values.
- Essential Qualification: Ability to drive a company-provided car and travel between locations; ethical, with safe driving history.
