Role Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing representative of DBV Technologies Medical Affairs. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other health care professionals (HCPs) to support the medical and scientific needs of the company’s products, and for exchanging scientific data with external stakeholders. The MSL provides medical education, supports clinical trials, and gathers field insights to inform medical strategy and ensure the company’s products are understood and utilized effectively in the medical community. Location: Mid Atlantic region (NY, NJ, PA, WV, DC/Metro, VA, DE, MD & NC).
Responsibilities
- Establish and Maintain Relationships with KOLs/HCPs: Identify, develop, and manage professional relationships with KOLs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Educate KOLs & HCPs: Provide educational information and updates to KOLs/HCPs, tailoring content to their needs.
- Scientific Engagement: Accurately and compliantly interpret and disseminate balanced and factual scientific, clinical, and health economic data. Present scientific data at meetings, conferences, and educational sessions, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- Gather Insights: Collect and report on insights from KOLs and HCPs to guide company/medical strategy, utilizing advanced analytics tools. Gather and report on competitive intelligence from the field, providing strategic insights to the organization on areas of therapeutic interest.
- Provide Input for Medical Strategy: Share field insights to inform the development of medical strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Respond to Medical Information Requests (MIR): Provide responses to unsolicited medical inquiries from the healthcare community, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Training and Supporting Sales Force: Collaborate with the sales team to provide scientific training and support, ensuring they are well-equipped to communicate product information
- Support Company-Sponsored Research/Trials: Coordinate and support clinical trials and other research activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support Investigator-Led Research (IITs, ISTs): Provide support for investigator-led research projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Qualifications
- Required: 3+ years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry/clinical pharmacist/research, or related scientific/clinical setting; MSL experience preferred.
- Preferred: Allergy/immunology and pediatric experience.
- Preferred: Clinical trial development and drug launch experience.
- Required: Knowledge of clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines.
- Required: Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
- Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Required: Ability to assess issues and think strategically.
- Required: Ability and experience working cross-functionally.
- Required: Ability to anticipate, organize, plan and handle multiple changing priorities.
- Required: Ability to work independently and not requiring close supervision while adhering to Medical Affairs strategic direction.
- Required: Ability and interest in leading and participating in projects while effectively balancing projects with field work.
- Required: Ability to analyze complex situations and proactively identify opportunities/issues; effectively solve problems that cross functional boundaries.
- Required: Sound computer skills, including word processing, producing slide materials, and working with spreadsheets.
Education
- Doctorate in health science or clinical discipline strongly preferred; MD/DO, PharmD, Nurse Practitioner, PhD or related; however, significant clinical and/or industry experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements.
Additional Requirements
- Travel: Capable of engaging in frequent business travel (approximately 50-75% of time), including air travel, overnight stays and weekends.
- This is a field-based position; the employee is required to set up a home-based office.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
