Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison, CardioRenal - Portland, OR. The CVRM Medical Science Liaison provides medical and scientific support for Cardiorenal marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development. Engages in scientific exchange with KOLs, KDMs, and HCPs to advance Therapeutic Brand Teams’ objectives and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and scientific support for Cardiorenal marketed products, new indications, and development compounds.
  • Engage in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and Healthcare Professionals in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives.
  • Identify and engage customers with scientific and business knowledge of AstraZeneca products; develop peer-level relationships with KDMs, HCPs, and researchers.
  • Identify investigators for pre-clinical, clinical, and post-marketing studies in line with Clinical Development and Therapeutic Brand Teams.
  • Uncover barriers to optimal disease management and provide actionable information to internal stakeholders to support appropriate use of products.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with balanced clinical and scientific information; deliver information that differentiates the company’s products.
  • Adhere to internal processes and regulatory/compliance requirements; maintain expertise in disease state management and competitive landscape.
  • Provide clinical support and present data regionally and nationally; demonstrate project leadership across the field medical team and therapeutic area; train and mentor within the therapeutic area.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA-C; BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered).
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare system landscape.
  • Established networks and clinical experience within the Therapeutic Area focus.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to discuss scientific content clearly to multiple audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent project management ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% (geography-dependent).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience delivering quality improvement initiatives.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Established track record of basic or clinical research.
