Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing representative responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and other Health Care Professionals to support the medical and scientific needs of the companyโ€šร„รดs products. The MSL will engage in the exchange of scientific data and medical information with external stakeholders, provide medical education, support clinical trials, and gather insights to inform medical strategy and ensure accurate understanding and utilization of the companyโ€šร„รดs products.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and Maintain Relationships with KOLs/HCPs: Identify, develop, and manage professional relationships with KOLs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Educate KOLs & HCPs: Provide educational information and updates to KOLs/HCPs, tailoring content to their needs.
  • Scientific Engagement: Interpret and disseminate balanced scientific, clinical, and health economic data. Present data at meetings and educational sessions.
  • Gather Insights: Collect and report insights from KOLs and HCPs to guide medical strategy; report on competitive intelligence from the field.
  • Provide Input for Medical Strategy: Share field insights to inform development of medical strategies.
  • Respond to Medical Information Requests (MIR): Provide timely and accurate responses to unsolicited medical inquiries.
  • Training and Supporting Sales Force: Collaborate with the sales team to provide scientific training and support.
  • Support Company-Sponsored Research/Trials: Coordinate and support clinical trials and research activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support Investigator-Led Research (IITs, ISTs): Provide support for investigator-led projects aligned with company objectives.

Qualifications

  • A doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline is strongly preferred (MD/DO, PharmD, Nurse Practitioner, PhD or related); significant clinical/industry experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
  • 3+ years in pharma/biotech industry/clinical pharmacist/research or related scientific/clinical experience; MSL experience preferred.
  • Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge; allergy/immunology and pediatric experience strongly preferred.
  • Clinical trial development and drug launch experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to assess issues, think strategically, and work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while following Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Ability to lead and participate in projects while balancing field work.
  • Analytical problem-solving across cross-functional boundaries.
  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, slide materials, spreadsheets).
  • Ability to travel frequently (approximately 50-75%); valid driver's license required.
  • Field-based role requiring setup of a home-based office.
