Medical Outcomes Science Liaison, New England (CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME, NJ, NY)

Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and work with internal and external partners to advance AbbVie’s field scientific strategies across the product portfolio; relationship development and account management; identify key HCDMs within an account.
- Provide tailored communication of scientific, health outcomes, and health policy information to varied audiences; maintain and continually enhance clinical/scientific and healthcare landscape expertise.
- Communicate and report back important customer perspectives and competitive intelligence.
- Identify and develop scientific opportunities across managed markets stakeholders within assigned geography.
- Integrate with Medical Affairs + Health Impact, US Market Access, and other internal stakeholders as appropriate; exhibit peer leadership among internal field medical stakeholders.
- Identify, anticipate, and address population-level scientific, outcomes research, and health policy needs; serve as a trusted scientific advisor using internal/external resources.
- Provide clinical and health economic support to healthcare access decision makers and influencers for therapeutic areas, new products, new/updated indications, and marketed products.
- Contribute to solutions and innovative strategies addressing customer clinical outcomes and health economic questions aligned with medical affairs strategies.
- Participate in therapeutic advisory activities for marketed and investigational products across the full product life-cycle; partner with HCDMs across all channels within managed markets and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (preferably M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., or Ph.D.).
- 3–5 years of experience in Managed Care/PBM, VA/DoD, CMS, State Medicaid, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical industry, or related environment preferred; relevant Residency/Fellowship may substitute for some experience; account management experience in a commercial or clinical setting preferred.
- Required skills: strong scientific acumen; impactful communication and active listening; networking and relationship development; lead/influence without authority; business analysis; advanced technical expertise; critical thinking; innovative problem solving; negotiation.
- Meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements for assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof).
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
