Role Summary
Medical Liaison in the Northwest portfolio, supporting Novo Nordisk products through scientific engagement with healthcare providers, education, and medical information delivery. Builds relationships, demonstrates clinical outcomes, and communicates the medical value of NNI products to HCPs and relevant healthcare organizations. Serves as a scientific liaison across Medical, Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and Government segments, contributing to territory plans and identifying opportunities for clinical trials and education.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties:
- Completes administrative duties accurately and on time in line with SOPs and practices
- Complies with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Manages regional budgets and administrative processes effectively
- Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes and assists others as needed
- Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures
- Records activities in the CRM system and expenses in Concur per FMA procedures
- Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
- Attends medical/scientific meetings; stays current on issues and data for NNI products
- Develops and maintains relationships with key health care providers and IHNs
- Promotes appropriate use of NNI products and service utilization
- Supports colleagues in answering provider questions
- Uses account management, business acumen, and scientific expertise to build relationships
- Establishes medical account strategy/plan and identifies collaboration opportunities
- Field-Based Clinical Support:
- Collaborates with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions and HEOR presentations
- Supports development of scientific strategies with Marketing and Sales
- Coordinates with trial sites to ensure timely study initiation, completion, and publication
- Provides clinical support to investigators and assists with patient recruitment/retention
- Coordinates with regional FMA team to ensure integrated clinical coverage
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders to provide system-wide clinical education within IHNs
- Coordinates with HSM to educate executives and formulary stakeholders to secure access
- Develops and presents product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations
Qualifications
- Required: Doctoral degree
- Required: At least two yearsβ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment
- Preferred: Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience
- Required: Displays business acumen/knowledge based on formulary decisions
- Preferred: Extensive experience in diabetes
- Required: Strong communication skills
Additional Requirements
- 50-75% overnight travel required; Driver must have a valid license
- Must be in good standing with respect to Novo Nordisk point threshold for Motor Vehicle Records
