Role Summary

Builds relationships and demonstrates the clinical outcome and benefits of NNI products. Educates and demonstrates the benefits of key products to HCPs. Provides medical information and coordinates educational workshops, round tables, medical forums, etc. May explore and identify sites for clinical trials in all stages of development. Functions as a scientific liaison between NNI and key external customers to further scientific exchange, providing advanced product, scientific and medical field support to Medical, Sales and Marketing, as well as Managed Care and Government. Develops and maintains medical (territory and account) plans in coordination with Field Director.

Responsibilities

  • Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development
    • Attends assigned medical and scientific meetings to maintain awareness of current issues and new data; develops and maintains relationships with key health care providers and IHNs; promotes appropriate use of NNI products and services; supports representatives and managers in answering questions from health care providers and IHNs
    • Combines account management skills, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and develop collaborative relationships
    • Establishes the medical account strategy/plan through identification and cultivation of key relationships and collaboration opportunities
  • Field-Based Clinical Support
    • Collaborates with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions and delivers HEOR presentations upon request
    • Collaborates with Marketing and Sales to inform development of scientific strategies to optimize products and development activities
    • Coordinates with trial/study sites to ensure timely review, initiation, and completion, and publication of results; provides clinical support to investigators and assists with patient recruitment and retention
    • Coordinates with regional FMA team members to ensure integrated coverage of regional clinical and scientific needs
    • Coordinates with internal stakeholders to provide system-wide clinical education and support within IHNs and manage professional relations within these networks
    • Coordinates with HSM to educate Chief Executives, Medical Directors, and formulary stakeholders to secure access to products and services
    • Develops and presents product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations within IHNs, using approved material
  • Administrative Duties
    • Completes administrative duties accurately and timely per SOPs
    • Complies with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
    • Manages regional business operations and budgets
    • Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes and assists other FMA members as needed
    • Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities to Director, including budget expenditures
    • Records activities in the customer response management system (e.g., VEEVA) and expenses in Concur per FMA procedures

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree required
  • At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
  • Relevant clinical and/or Cardiometabolic experience preferred
  • Displays business acumen/knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions
  • Extensive experience in diabetes strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills

Additional Requirements

  • 50-75% overnight travel required
  • Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Territory includes Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas; candidate may live within 50 miles of territory
