Role Summary
The Medical Liaison for Obesity & Liver Health (South Central) builds relationships, educates healthcare professionals on the clinical outcomes and benefits of Novo Nordisk products, and provides medical information and coordination of educational activities. The role acts as a scientific liaison between Novo Nordisk and external customers to support scientific exchange and field medical affairs, delivering advanced product and scientific support to Medical, Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and Government stakeholders. Location: Territory based in LA, OK, and AR.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties:
- Completes administrative duties accurately and timely in line with SOPs and practices
- Complies with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Manages regional business operations and budgets effectively
- Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes and helps others learn them
- Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures
- Records activities in CRM systems and expenses in Concur per FMA procedures
- Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
- Attends medical and scientific meetings, maintains awareness of current issues and data related to NNI products
- Develops relationships with key health care providers and IHNs; supports utilization of NNI products and services
- Combines account management, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and collaboration
- Establishes medical account strategy and cultivates key relationships for collaboration opportunities
- Field-Based Clinical Support:
- Collaborates with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions; delivers HEOR presentations
- Works with Marketing and Sales to inform scientific strategies for product development
- Coordinates with trial sites to support studies, patient recruitment, and results dissemination; provides clinical support to investigators
- Coordinates with regional FMA team for integrated coverage of clinical and scientific needs
- Manages education and support within IHNs; maintains professional relations within networks
- Coordinates with HSM to educate executives and formulary stakeholders to secure access to products
- Develops and presents product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree required
- At least two yearsβ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
- Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
- Displays business acumen/knowledge based on formulary decisions
- Extensive experience in diabetes strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills
Additional Requirements
- 50-75% overnight travel required; driver must maintain a valid driverβs license
