Role Summary

Medical Liaison for CVR AMI - Southeast. This role builds relationships, demonstrates clinical outcomes and benefits of products to healthcare professionals, provides medical information, coordinates educational activities, and identifies sites for clinical trials. Acts as a scientific liaison between Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) and external customers to support scientific exchange, and provides advanced medical field support to Medical, Sales and Marketing, Managed Care and Government teams. Territory includes VA, NC, and SC, with significant travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties:
    • Complete administrative duties accurately and timely in line with SOPs
    • Comply with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
    • Manage regional business and budgets effectively
    • Understand Novo Nordisk processes and assist others in their use
    • Provide monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures
    • Record activities in a customer response management system and expenses in Concur
  • Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
    • Attend medical and scientific meetings; stay current on data related to NNI products
    • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and IHNs
    • Promote appropriate use of NNI products and services
    • Support representatives and managers in answering external inquiries
    • Combine account management, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value
    • Establish medical account strategy/plan through key relationships and collaboration opportunities
  • Field-Based Clinical Support:
    • Collaborate with HEOR to present scientific value propositions; deliver HEOR presentations
    • Inform development of scientific strategies with Marketing and Sales
    • Coordinate with trial sites; facilitate studies and publish results; support recruitment and retention
    • Coordinate with regional FMA teams for integrated clinical coverage
    • Provide system-wide clinical education within IHNs and manage professional relationships
    • Work with HSM to educate executives and formulary stakeholders to secure access
    • Develop and present product & scientific updates, including formulary presentations

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree required
  • At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
  • Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
  • Business acumen/knowledge from formulary decisions
  • Extensive experience in diabetes strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills

Additional Requirements
