Clinical Research and Development
Responsibilities:
- Oversee direction, planning, execution, and interpretation of clinical trials/research activities within a clinical development program.
- Manage study protocol design and implementation (with appropriate supervision) supporting the Product Development Plan; oversee education of investigators/site staff/AbbVie study staff.
- Oversee study integrity; review/interpret/communicate accumulating safety and efficacy data; oversee enrollment and timelines (with Clinical Operations); assess/report serious adverse events per policy and regulations.
- Contribute to design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting for protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, regulatory submissions/responses, and related documents.
- Serve as clinical representative on Clinical Strategy Team; contribute to a rigorous, cross-functionally aligned Clinical Development Plan.
- Participate in opinion leader interactions with Medical Affairs/Commercial/others per policy.
- Stay current via conferences, literature, and training.
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements; may contribute to regulatory responses.
- Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices, pharmacovigilance standards, SOPs, and quality standards.

Qualifications:
Medical Director (with supervision):
- MD/DO (or non-US equivalent) with relevant specialty in academic/hospital setting; residency strongly preferred; psychiatry fellowship desirable.
- Ability to run a clinical research study (with supervision).
- Cross-functional collaboration; excellent oral/written English.
- Clinical trial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory/compliance requirements; protocol design experience desirable.

Senior Medical Director (minimal supervision):
- MD/DO (or non-US equivalent); psychiatry residency strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years clinical trial experience; translational research preferred.
- Ability to run a moderate-complexity clinical research program with minimal supervision; leadership on global cross-functional teams.
