Role Summary
Medical Director, Oncology – Medical Affairs. Internal medical and scientific expert for tumor hyperinsulinism (tumor HI) guiding the Medical Affairs strategy bridging oncology and endocrinology. Leads disease-state and product education, launch readiness, and scientific engagement with oncology and endocrinology KOLs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scientific excellence and alignment.
Responsibilities
- Medical Strategy & Leadership: Partner in shaping and delivering Medical Affairs strategy for RZ358 in tumor HI; act as internal disease area expert for hypoglycemia in oncology; collaborate with Clinical Development and Commercial to support clinical evidence needs and market readiness; contribute to publication plans, data dissemination strategies, and scientific platform; integrate field insights into strategy and communications; ensure consistent messaging and field alignment.
- Internal Education & Training: Equip internal teams with knowledge to engage medical and patient communities; serve as primary trainer for hyperinsulinism pathophysiology, RZ358 mechanism of action, clinical data, and competitive landscape; mentor MSLs.
- External Engagement & Thought Leader Collaboration: Build relationships with oncologists, neuroendocrine tumor specialists, and endocrinologists; identify and engage KOLs; represent Rezolute at congresses and advisory boards; provide leadership for IIS and collaborative research; capture and synthesize insights to inform strategy and publications.
- Medical Affairs Execution: Collaborate with field MSLs and cross-functional teams to execute medical education and data dissemination plans; oversee advisory boards, educational programs, and medical materials for accuracy and compliance; support Medical Information with standard responses and FAQs; develop scientific slides and materials.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure activities adhere to SOPs and regulatory standards; support MLR and promotional review; coordinate with pharmacovigilance for safety reporting; uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent advanced clinical degree with board certification or strong expertise in Oncology, Adult Endocrinology, or related medical specialties.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs within biopharmaceuticals, ideally in oncology, endocrine-oncology, or neuroendocrine tumors.
- Proven success developing and executing medical strategies for launch-stage or commercialized rare disease, oncology, or endocrinology products.
- Strong understanding of neuroendocrine tumor biology, tumor-induced hypoglycemia, and insulin-secreting malignancies mechanisms.
- Ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, actionable insights; collaborative in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately up to 50%).
Preferred Experience And Attributes
- Experience supporting oncology or endocrinology product launches, especially rare tumor indications or metabolic-oncology interfaces.
- Professional relationships within oncology, endocrinology, and neuroendocrine communities.
- Experience mentoring or leading field medical teams; experience with MLR/PRC reviews or Medical Information processes preferred.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution and organizational skills; high integrity and accountability aligned with Rezolute’s mission.
