Role: Medical Director specializing in late-stage rheumatology clinical development within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine division. Objectives include overseeing Phase 2 and 3 trials, ensuring rigorous trial design, medical monitoring, safety oversight, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities encompass leading study teams, developing clinical documentation, contributing to regulatory submissions, interpreting clinical data, and fostering relationships with investigators and external experts. The role involves evaluating new mechanisms and modalities relevant to autoimmune diseases, mentoring team members, and supporting strategic program initiatives. Qualifications: MD or equivalent, with 3+ years of clinical development or research experience, preferably in industry; board certification in rheumatology is preferred. Experience leading interventional trials, protocol development, and data analysis is required; familiarity with deep depletion approaches or CAR T-cell therapies is desirable. Capabilities include strong clinical judgment, knowledge of GxP and trial methodology, data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in matrixed teams; proficiency with digital tools and AI is advantageous.
