The Medical Director also provides scientific input on evidence generation, guides publications and scientific communication, and contributes to enterprise governance and portfolio decisions. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring medical staff, contributing to organizational development, and serving on senior leadership teams. Qualifications require an M.D. (preferably with experience as a cardiologist or nephrologist) and 5+ years in medical affairs or clinical development within biotech/pharma, with expertise in cardiovascular disease, clinical trial design, and regulatory processes. The role demands strong scientific communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with approximately 20% travel. High-value biopharma specifics include focus on chronic cardiovascular and renal diseases, clinical trial oversight, biomarker strategy, regulatory engagement, and cross-functional leadership within a biotech setting.
