Operations
Position Brand Description
- The Mechanic/HVAC-R services, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment in LTC Utilities (high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewers).
- Provides good customer service; ensures utility equipment/buildings are maintained at all utility locations; maintains EPA compliance documentation.
- Assists craftspeople in multiple crafts.

Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Comply with all HSE aspects; support departmental HSE plans; participate in Safety Improvement activities.
- Qualify to perform duties requiring LOTO, lifts, respirators, confined space, and fall protection.
- Document work per Good Documentation Practices.
- Support Supervisor/Planner/Scheduler to create and improve job plans and procedures.
- Repair/overhaul equipment (gear boxes, pumps, blowers, fans); disassemble, set tolerances, and align equipment (e.g., air compressors, vacuum pumps).
- Use Performance Management (PM) and basic CMMS functionality daily.
- Maintain refrigerant service records; stay current on technical/specialty skills.

Basic Requirements
- Experience with high purity water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, glycol, city water, and sewers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driverโ€™s license; respond to call-ins and work scheduled overtime.
- Lift up to 40 pounds; tolerate outdoor conditions in winter/summer.
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
- Universal EPA refrigerant license.

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Associateโ€™s degree/Technical Certificate in mechanical discipline (or equivalent); applicable military training acceptable.
- Manufacturing maintenance experience preferred; regulated industry (FDA preferred).
- English proficiency for technical/business communication.
- Troubleshooting skills with minimal downtime; follow written procedures.
- Good documentation and communication; shop tools/equipment knowledge (machining/welding a plus).
- Read/interpret mechanical prints/schematics.
- Team-oriented; willingness to work outside craft.
- CMMS/work order tracking proficiency (e.g., Maximo); Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint.

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
