Materials AI/ML Specialist

Role: Materials AI/ML Specialist focused on accelerating formulation science and new product development using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Responsibilities: apply AI/ML methods (e.g., Bayesian optimization, cheminformatics, active learning) to guide experimental planning for adhesives and pressure-sensitive tapes; perform hands-on formulation and testing (overlap shear, DMA, handling strength); analyze data for insights; develop and implement digital tools for experiment planning and knowledge sharing; communicate findings to cross-functional teams; operate independently in a fast-paced R&D environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related; 3+ years in product development, formulation, or experimental lab work; 2+ years using AI/ML/data science tools in lab settings; strong communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects. Preferred: Master's or higher degree; 5+ years of relevant experience; hands-on adhesive/polymers formulation and testing experience; familiarity with Bayesian optimization, generative AI, Python, ML libraries; exposure to LLMs; cross-functional collaboration skills.
