Role: Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering Co-op supporting Bayer's chemical manufacturing processes. Responsibilities: assist in material selection for new processes and existing equipment, conduct literature reviews, perform corrosion testing, analyze failure data, and contribute to Mechanical Integrity programs; collaborate across sites in the US and South America. Requirements: pursuing a Bachelor's in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field; minimum 1 year of coursework completed; strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and teamwork skills. Preferred: 3.0+ GPA, knowledge of manufacturing and materials impact on safety and cost, corrosion testing or failure analysis experience.
