Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Role Summary

The Material Handler on the 2nd shift is responsible for staging packaging materials, checking in packaging orders, and ensuring FIFO is followed. The role monitors production schedules, keeps packaging lines supplied, and assists with materials reconciliation and troubleshooting as needed. The person will maintain clean, organized work areas and communicate pass-downs to the next shift. All activities must comply with safety, environmental and quality practices and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Stage packaging materials for upcoming production runs.
• Check in packaging orders received from Distribution Center.
• Ensure FIFO system is strictly followed.
• Monitor production schedules for changes and react accordingly.
• Keep packaging lines supplied to prevent downtime due to material shortages.
• Remove and sign for finished good pallets.
• Count and remove transfer packaging materials and return materials.
• Assist lead operators in troubleshooting material reconciliation issues and other material problems.
• Maintain areas of responsibility clean and organized; reduce clutter.
• Communicate with oncoming shift material handlers to ensure proper pass-down of information.
• Follow all safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures per guidelines and SOPs and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Minimum zero to five years related experience and/or training.
