Technical Lead (Marketing Cloud)

Responsibilities:
- Guide a team of Marketing Cloud developers and specialists through implementation challenges; set technical direction, review designs, and ensure solutions follow best practices.
- Provide SFMC architecture and platform subject matter expertise, including emerging features.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Oversee end-to-end technical delivery of Marketing Cloud implementations, ensuring data integrity, system performance, compliance, and quality.
- Evaluate new SFMC features/releases and recommend actionable changes.
- Define and enforce development standards, governance policies, and security protocols.
- Foster continuous learning/improvement, including adoption of AI tools to accelerate delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation (architecture diagrams, design specs, operational procedures).
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and development plans.
- Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and ensure solutions meet business objectives.
- Lead technical design sessions/walkthroughs and sprint grooming (LOE estimates, scope/timelines).
- Manage stakeholder expectations by surfacing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Participate in vendor management/evaluation for related marketing technology solutions.

Qualifications / Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- 5+ years hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development and architecture experience.
- Experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Developer with cross-functional influence.
- Hands-on AMPscript, SSJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL in the Marketing Cloud environment.
- Hands-on Marketing Cloud Connect implementation experience (API integrations and data extensions).
- Data modeling/data architecture/database concepts for marketing use cases (segmentation, targeting, campaign execution).
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification(s) (e.g., Email Specialist, Consultant, Administrator, Developer, Architect).
- Agile experience (user story creation, sprint grooming).
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship).

Skills / Preferred:
- AI enthusiasm and hands-on fluency using tools like Claude/ChatGPT or similar LLMs.
- Strong learning agility, proactive problem-solving, and self-management.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor others technically without formal management authority.
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience (plus).
