Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own and integrate Above Brand/Unbranded initiatives across the Vertex portfolio to advance customer interactions across mega accounts, enabling broad, timely and sustainable access (solution development, implementation, pull-through, measurement)
- In tandem with HEOR, define strategic payer collaborations (health equity, quality, population health, etc.) with non-branded mega accounts across therapeutic categories
- Partner with the Access COE (data, analytics and insights) and CRM teams to track customer/data insights across the evolving access environment and Vertex portfolio
- Evaluate alternative contracting frameworks (VBC/OBA/warranties) to support product clinical profiles and enable measurement of desired outcomes
- Deliver insights and analysis to shape GTM strategies
- Own and manage market access assessments/environmental scans to inform LRP assumptions and develop action plans to manage risks and opportunities
- Provide annual landscape assessments across access channels (Payers/Mega Accounts, IDNs, GPOs, SP/SDs, Pharmacy) to support brand planning/launches and product prioritization
- Partner with external agencies/vendors as needed; manage approvals and budget allocation
- Establish a value framework and communication platform (PVPs) via HEOR integration leveraging IT capabilities
Knowledge and Skills:
- Expert knowledge of the US healthcare system (government & commercial payers, hospitals, IDNs), policy/regulatory environment, and flow of funds
- Strategic leadership experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare; mega account experience
- Understanding of alternative Value Base Contracts; evaluate models to support OBA and warranty-like models
- Proven ability to meet/exceed objectives
- Excellent communication skills (presenting to customers and internal leadership)
- Ability to influence and collaborate in a highly matrixed environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelorโs degree in relevant field; Masterโs preferred
- 10+ years of market access experience across channels, including payer marketing, contracting, and payer account management
- Typically 10โ12 years of MA experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Location:
- Remote, HQ or hybrid schedule (3 days/week in HQ)
