Role Summary

Director, Market Access Strategy – T1D (zimislecel). Location: Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly).

The role is accountable for leading, overseeing, and project-managing the development of Market Access strategies, primarily pre-approval information exchange (PIE) and payer value proposition (PVP) resources, materials, trainings, and tactical support programs, and for the overall execution of access resources across all channels for the zimislecel program. This position requires collaboration, leadership, influencing, and strategic alignment across multiple functions. Reports to the Sr Director, Market Access Strategy, T1D.

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical leadership and project management in developing and implementing brand and market access strategies by channel to support patient access and customer reimbursement for zimislecel, including leadership with CRC submissions, reviews, and responses.
  • Drive payer strategy including understanding of pricing, contracting, payer landscape, and reimbursement to ensure strategies and tactics are aligned to the overarching brand strategy.
  • Refinement and execution of the go-to-market access strategy.
  • Lead initiatives to understand, analyze, and demonstrate clinical, economic, and societal value to payers, decision-makers, and influencers based on FDAMA114 guidelines (Pre-approval Information Exchanges) as well as payer value proposition.
  • Partner with the T1D Access lead to define alternative contracting strategies in tandem with the MA cross-functional team and GVAS.
  • Develop, train, and implement the necessary promotional resources and reimbursement pull-through that support field account teams’ efforts with key customers.
  • Plan and execute payer Advisory Boards.
  • Customize strategies based on Commercial, Medicaid & Medicare demographics, legislation, and trends.
  • Identify and address key product barriers to payer access and performance by applying advanced payer analytics and market trends.
  • Oversee agencies and external vendors to deliver resources and strategic insights on time and within budget.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to assess impact of key initiatives.
  • Act as trusted subject matter expert on US market access landscape to internal colleagues and external customers.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of the US healthcare system, including government and commercial payers, policy, and regulatory environment.
  • Strong understanding of the hospital setting, billing and coding requirements for therapies, as well as the flow of funds, with cell & gene experience.
  • Previous contract strategy leadership experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or healthcare industry.
  • Experience in developing and articulating a clear and pragmatic value proposition.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals, both as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to customers and internal leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority, with the interpersonal skills to foster collaboration in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Must have product launch experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Typically requires 10+ years of MA experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
