Role Summary
Manufacturing Technician II- Day Shift. Implement all processes in production while strictly following cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and any applicable related regulations. You will have technical and administrative competence to organize and lead production activities, participate in departmental projects and quality working teams, assist with movement of materials through the value stream, potentially serve as line lead, and document process activities. Report to the Supervisor, Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply cGMP regulations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Remain professional, self-starting, and manage time effectively.
- Meet production task deadlines and follow safety and quality guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and quality working environment.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams and support manufacturing operations.
- Lead Manufacturing Technicians I in daily tasks.
- Operate general production equipment (e.g., Downstream Automated Packaging lines, forklifts, hoists).
- Move pallets between rooms within the value stream and distribute supplies into the production area.
- Communicate cross-functionally with other departments and document process activities on routers or in the electronic batch management system (EBM).
- Follow GDP/GMP guidelines and complete relevant paperwork.
- Perform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain GMP standards.
- Train employees/contractors on procedures and report safety, quality, compliance, and equipment issues to the manufacturing lead operator and supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience, or AA or higher with 1+ years of related work experience.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends, to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency with cGMP in a pharmaceutical setting.
- Strong time management, organization, and communication abilities.
- Ability to operate production equipment and move materials within the facility.
- Attention to safety, quality guidelines, and documentation practices.
Education
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree or higher preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to carry, lift, push/pull up to 30 lbs with assistance as needed; stand/walk for extended periods (8–12 hours).
- Ability to work in areas with chemicals, loud noises, or requiring PPE and gowning; may require visual inspection duties (vision requirements specified).
- Must be able to work in a controlled environment with safety gear and gowning; some roles may involve clean room or special storage conditions.
- May be exposed to cephalosporin (depending on role) and must be able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, holidays, and 12-hour shifts as needed.
