Position Summary
The Team Lead provides daily coordination, technical leadership, and operational support to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production activities. Partners with the Supervisor to meet schedule, quality, and workflow goals while supporting team members through training, process adherence, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on leadership in setup, operation, monitoring, and safe removal of finished products.
- Execute daily production workflows safely and efficiently in alignment with schedules.
- Demonstrate proficiency in team tasks and equipment operations; serve as a technical resource.
- Support adaptation to shifting priorities and changing production needs.
- Maintain accurate calibrations; ensure reliable operation of semiautomated manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor equipment, identify issues, and perform/coordinate timely troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Lead training and onboarding for new employees (SOPs, quality expectations, safety standards).
- Meet cycle times while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Uphold accurate, complete, compliant documentation.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams/departments.
- Drive production schedule achievement through proactive coordination and resource management.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years relevant experience; or associate degree with 2–4 years relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic scientific calculations and statistics.
- Documentation/record keeping; adherence to SOPs.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new techniques/processes/equipment quickly.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to plan/prioritize/manage multiple tasks; work independently and in a team.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Laboratory and production environment; exposure to chemicals/reagents.
- Lift/handle 5–50 lbs; stand/walk and perform repetitive tasks; manual dexterity for equipment and fine measurements.
