Purpose
The role of the Manufacturing Supervisor I has basic knowledge and experience in its field and develops competence by performing structured work. Receives guidance and direction from more senior peers. Lead and facilitate safe operations in line with all safety, regulatory and operational requirements. Ensure delivery of high levels of customer service, product and service quality, regulatory compliance, desired financial performance (including cost reductions), and a culture of high performance.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Make safety the top priority; drive safety improvements and conduct safety gembas; promote zero safety incidents in compliance with EHS requirements.
- People: Deploy team members daily; delegate to meet production schedule; ensure required job training; conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and survey action plans; ensure weekly time/attendance approval; cascade important information.
- Operational: Coordinate shift activities to meet production schedule; ensure smooth shift handover.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies; conduct routine material checks, line clearance checks, and spot checks; manage compliance issues impacting lot completion.
- Performance: Manage cycle time and change-over time; continuously identify improvements.
- Development: Train and assign progressively challenging tasks; maintain development plans; support growth mindset.
- Operation Excellence (OpEx): Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Waste: Generate and manage non-hazardous and hazardous waste per internal procedures and local/federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; sciences or engineering strongly preferred.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
- Two years manufacturing/related experience required; supervisor experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP).
- Working knowledge of safety/quality systems and cGMPs required; documentation familiarity; good writing skills.
- Aseptic production environment experience desirable (if applicable).
