The role of the Manufacturing Supervisor I has basic knowledge and experience in its field and develops competence by performing structured work. Receives guidance and direction from more senior peers. Lead and facilitate safe operations in line with all safety, regulatory and operational requirements. Assure delivery of high levels of customer service, ensure quality of product and services, comply with all regulatory requirements, achieve desired financial performance including cost reductions, and build a culture of high performance.
Responsibilities:
- Safety: Drive safety improvements; conduct safety gemba routinely; promote zero safety incidents in compliance with all EHS requirements.
- People: Deploy team members daily; delegate tasks to meet the production schedule; ensure training to required standards; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and survey action plans; ensure weekly time and attendance approval; communicate key info to the team.
- Operational: Coordinate shift activities to meet the production schedule; ensure smooth shift handover for safe execution of departmental activities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies; perform routine material checks, line clearance checks, and spot checks; manage compliance issues that could impact lot completion.
- Performance: Manage cycle time and continuously seek improvements; manage change-over time and continuously seek improvements.
- Development: Train direct reports; assign progressively challenging tasks; ensure development actions/plans and growth opportunities; maintain a growth mindset.
- Operation Excellence (OpEx): Participate in process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required; degree in sciences or engineering strongly preferred.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
- Two years of manufacturing or related experience required; supervisor experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP).
- Working knowledge of safety, quality systems, and cGMPs required; familiarity with regulated documentation and good writing skills.
- Aseptic production experience desirable (if applicable).
