Position Summary:
Operational Excellence Specialist leading deployment of the GSK Production System across Drug Product operations and central functions; build sustainable process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to optimize safety, quality, productivity, cost effectiveness, and business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Implement manufacturing and non-manufacturing processes using Lean/Six Sigma tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, TPM, DMAIC, Kaizen); act as GPS representative for assigned area.
- Lead hands-on GPS implementation with operators and operations managers (standard work, visual management, problem solving, continuous improvement).
- Maintain a portfolio of GPS/Lean Six Sigma tasks; track deliverables in Microsoft Project; report progress/escalations/risks via dashboard.
- Develop and deploy smart dashboards/visual management (Power Apps/Power BI) for Drug Product operations and workflows.
- Bring forward digital, AI, and Industry 4.0 capabilities for operational excellence.
- Support problem-solving and change-management events; partner on GPS teach points and GPS components (standard work instructions, performance boards).
- Use data analysis to diagnose root causes and sustain improvements; benchmark best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement across the value chain; perform duties in compliance with SOPs, EHS, Quality Management System, GMP, and global quality documents.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years deploying standard work, visual management, tiered performance management, problem solving, 5S/Kaizen, DMAIC, value stream mapping, SMED, TPM, or related Lean tools.
- Bachelorβs or associate degree in engineering/science/manufacturing/business/supply chain or related field.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt/Lean Master certification (or progression) with hands-on improvement-project leadership in a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/GMP/regulated drug product operations experience; manage initiative portfolios and risks/escalations.
- Microsoft Project (or similar) experience.
- Dashboard/visual tools experience (Power BI, Power Apps, Excel, SharePoint) and exposure to digital transformation/AI/automation/Industry 4.0/analytics.
- Strong communication/influencing; coach teams; cross-functional collaboration (Ops, Quality, Engineering, EHS, Supply Chain, leadership).
