Responsibilities:
- Understand basic control configuration or programming per design documents to meet functional requirements (IT process and OT methodology).
- Provide first-line MES IT technical support to Project Engineers, Maintenance, Production, and Technical Operation for automation-related problems; provide training for IT Systems users.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system hardware, software, and networking issues to support site automation counters.
- Perform IT system upgrades and data migrations for PLCs, SCADA, and Data Historian.
- Develop and execute qualification protocols and associated technical documentation (Functional/Design Specifications) following IT systems lifecycle validation.
- Perform scheduled IT system administration/maintenance (OS and anti-virus updates, user account management, critical data backup, etc.).
- Evaluate and recommend control system support improvements; establish monitoring and reporting techniques to support equipment reliability.
- Provide production support during off-peak hours (overtime/overnights/weekends may be required).
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with 2 years’ experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years’ experience.
- Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs and Rockwell Automation software.
- Experience with commissioning and qualification activities.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing/device experience.
- MES platform programming/troubleshooting; scripting (JSON/SQL), OPC UA (via Kepware), and Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Knowledge of Data Historian systems such as OSIsoft PI.
- Hands-on ladder logic and instructional text programming; HMI graphics development.
