Summary:
The Engineering Manager will lead and oversee the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop plans to support long-term company strategic initiatives and performance targets; evaluate capabilities and identify constraints.
- Manage and mentor manufacturing engineering staff.
- Manage and execute engineering projects from concept to completion within budget and on time.
- Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs of manufacturing equipment and tooling to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, and other optimization tools).
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and product development teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee procurement, installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing/packaging equipment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation (validations, reports, engineering change orders).
- Participate in process development for new products transferring to manufacturing.
- Participate in safety programs and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience; 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- cGMP and validation understanding (preferred).
Required / Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and process control.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, ERP systems, and data analysis software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making.
- Comfortable working on the production floor.
