UX Design Manager (Santa Clara, California)
Overview
- Lead the UX Design team within Surgical Robotics, shaping OTTAVA and MONARCH. Lead a team of designers responsible for digital touchpoints of the robots.
- Translate business needs into UX plans, strategies, and goals; build an inclusive, creative team culture focused on improving user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UX design activities and prioritization for OTTAVA and MONARCH; partner with software and product leadership on design strategy and reviews.
- Create aligned plans supporting business objectives and long-term vision.
- Manage bi-weekly design sprints using JIRA, Confluence, and Figma.
- Supervise 5–8 designers.
- Develop design talent with clear career plans and development activities.
- Participate in design critiques/reviews; continuously improve UX processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS in design, engineering, social sciences, or related field.
- Required: 5+ years professional experience; 2+ years line managing a UX design team; hands-on UX design experience and fluency with tools (Adobe Suite, Figma, Protopie, analytics engines, etc.); strong understanding of software implementation process; clear verbal and written communication.
- Preferred: Experience designing for medical devices; portfolio.
- Other: Travel up to 10% (international and domestic).
