Role Summary

The Manager, Technology Product Management – AI, Data & Insights blends technical product ownership with hands-on engineering leadership, focusing on delivering scalable AI and GenAI solutions that transform commercial pharma operations. The role acts as an IT Product Line manager with strong technical skills to deliver high-impact analytics products, collaborating with IT peers, external vendors, data partners, business product owners, technology services, and finance teams. The candidate should be technically proficient in architecting and building AI/GenAI capabilities (LLMs, AI agents, cloud-native data platforms) and translate business needs into production-grade solutions, accountable for technical delivery and value realization with the Business Product Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Product Management
    • Define and communicate product vision for AI/GenAI-enabled analytics platforms and prioritize features that leverage GenAI for commercial decision-making.
    • Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner to define and communicate product vision and strategy, identify and prioritize backlog in alignment with business strategy.
    • Define business value, ROI, and business outcomes; own total cost of ownership including vendor spend throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Drive adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction of Data Analytics products.
    • Coach business and technical product owners on standard product management methodologies to ensure consistency.
  • Solutioning & Delivery
    • Serve as Technical Product Owner with hands-on involvement in building AI/GenAI solutions.
    • Architect and implement GenAI capabilities using AWS/Azure stack (Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI, Azure ML).
    • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and deploy LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
    • Lead development of reusable AI components and pipelines for commercial analytics use cases.
    • Define product standards including design, development standards, release management, testing/validation, and compliance.
    • Lead analytics capabilities roadmap aligned with prioritization, enabling capabilities and new services.
    • Develop and lead project plans and all areas related to project management.
    • Accountable for application support of analytics platforms via Service Level Management with Application Service teams.
    • Utilize Agile methodology to translate business needs into user stories, prioritize backlog, and define sprint plans.
    • Partner with Technology Services on demand planning, effort, timing, delivery, and support of new demand.
    • Perform source data analysis and data discovery; collaborate to synthesize business rules for data acquisition and contextual information.
    • Ensure successful business product owner engagement and completion of user acceptance testing.
    • Provide technology leadership and deliver Commercial Data & Insights solutions for Sales/Marketing, Market Access and Medical functions; drive adoption.
    • Continuously measure capabilities against demand and business challenges; emphasize business agility and measurable outcomes.
    • Drive product health, technical quality, development and support services through consistent metrics reporting.
    • Manage product lifecycle and upgrade/decommission strategy as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Required: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, statistics, data science, or equivalent; master’s degree preferred.
  • Required: At least 5 years of diverse experience in data and insights technology product development.
  • Required: Proven track record deploying LLMs, AI agents, and GenAI-powered applications in production.
  • Required: Deep expertise in Python, ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain), and cloud-native AI services.
  • Required: Strong understanding of prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and evaluation metrics.
  • Required: Experience integrating GenAI into business workflows for measurable impact.
  • Required: At least 3 years leading mid-large data & insights product teams with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Required: At least 3 years designing and implementing data engineering and data science solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Required: Effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented under pressure.
  • Required: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate strategically with internal partners and influence outcomes.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on ambitious timelines and craft technical solutions for business problems.
  • Required: Expertise in data management, data modeling, large data lake platforms, and BI visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Preferred: Pharmaceutical or life sciences/healthcare industry experience; knowledge of commercial pharma processes.
  • Preferred: Experience with a broad range of pharmaceutical data (patient access, sales/marketing data, CRM, digital, lab, claims, etc.).
  • Preferred: Agile development experience, SDLC, risk management, information security, JIRA familiarity.
  • Preferred: Hands-on cloud technology experience (AWS/Azure); CI/CD and DevOps experience for data science/engineering.
