Role Summary
Manager, Research Program Management for Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) Therapeutics Area Genetics (TAG). Seeks to apply scientific expertise and program management knowledge to proactively plan, coordinate, and lead cross-functional activities within the TAG team.
Responsibilities
- Independently leads and facilitates collaborations between cross-functional teams to ensure effective, accurate, and timely communications for RGC and TAG projects.
- Tailor written and oral communications based on audience. Distill and capture sophisticated information and identify the most pertinent data through meeting summaries, capturing key decisions and action items.
- Provide genetics collaboration summaries and general guidelines to support presentations to senior management and key partners.
- Build cross-functional teams and lead project deliverables in a matrix organization.
- Develop templates, workflows, best practices, and tracking tools based on relevant knowledge.
- Plan, track, and execute a large portfolio of genetics projects to support novel target discovery.
- Lead RGC and scientific teams to make go/no-go decisions on new genetics projects.
- Maintain knowledge of data and achievements, and serve as a key contact for genetics collaborations and projects, including project tracking across RGC and Regeneron.
- Contribute to continuous learning and process improvement by defining and assessing best practices, procedures, and tools.
- Document best practices and procedures by performing analyses and preparing recommendations.
- Identify potential issues and implement mitigation strategies for general problem solving within Research Program Management or the RGC.
- Lead cross-functional discussions with internal and external partners and engage a broad range of research scientists and senior management.
- Identify scientific and resource interdependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for alignment.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members with tact and diplomacy.
Qualifications
- Required: Masterβs degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in a relevant biological area with a minimum of 2β3 years of project management experience in a scientific field or the drug discovery/development industry. Role serves as a key point of contact for TAG projects. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and familiarity with shared work environments.
- Preferred: Experience gaining cooperation from others and efficiently leading cross-functional discussions with internal and external partners; comfortable engaging a broad range of research scientists and senior management; ability to identify scientific and resource interdependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for alignment; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
