Role Summary
Manager, Regional Sales (PAIN) (Mid-Atlantic) is responsible for the daily supervision of a geographic region, coaching for improved performance, and monitoring sales activity. The role oversees a group of Sales Representatives and/or Territory Managers who deliver product presentations to raise product awareness, educate the market, and generate prescriptions. This position covers the Mid-Atlantic region (NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC) and requires leadership to drive prescribing and regional success.
Responsibilities
- Observe each Sales Representative/Territory Manager’s sales presentations in the field and provide feedback.
- Complete field coaching reports after travel days.
- Develop and maintain effective business plans for Territory Managers.
- Ensure teamwork across stakeholders for the brand (e.g., MSL, marketing, other field counterparts).
- Coach the group to improve sales presentations and hold individuals accountable for performance goals.
- Plan and conduct effective sales meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regional expectations.
- Share success stories and best practices within the region.
- Monitor data analytics to maximize impact on prescribing physicians.
- Implement and manage incentive programs for Sales Representatives/Territory Managers.
- Identify high-performing representatives for recognition and growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Administration on literature requests, data maintenance, and related support issues.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
- Required: 3+ years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of management or training experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Required: Experience managing sales representatives.
- Required: Demonstrated track record of success.
- Required: Strong leadership, team building, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Required: Track record of building strong teams.
- Preferred: Product launch experience.
- Required: Sound judgment and strategic decision-making abilities.
- Required: Ability to interpret and utilize business data to drive positive results.
- Required: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build business relationships; effective written and oral communication.
- Required: Ability to deliver presentations; comfortable performing field duties including travel and physical tasks as needed.
- Required: Willingness and ability to drive in a large geographic territory, travel by plane and car (usually within the US), and remain in standing positions for extended periods.
- Required: Approximately 50-75% travel expected.
