Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the technical architecture for the platform’s hosting, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance
- Design and execute the migration from single-tenant to multi-tenant architecture, enabling efficient resource utilization and client isolation
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to align technical solutions with business requirements and long-term platform vision
- Design and implement a comprehensive data abstraction layer to support multiple database technologies and optimize data access patterns
- Build and maintain robust, scalable RESTful APIs and serverless functions to support platform functionality
- Serve as the primary technical lead for hosting infrastructure
- Design and implement secure data handling practices for Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging mechanisms to protect sensitive data
Qualifications / Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or 8+ years equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Minimum 2+ years in a senior or lead engineering role
- Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, production-grade systems
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend focus
- Required: Experience handling PII/PHI data and strong understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST)
Skills / Preferred:
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB), including designing RESTful APIs at scale
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems patterns
- Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP Top 10, encryption, authentication/authorization, audit logging, encryption at rest and in transit)
- Deep AWS expertise (EC2, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, etc.) and proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools
