Role Summary
Manager of Connectivity, Healthcare-IT within the Robotics & Digital Solutions organization. This role leads the connectivity model across hospital customers, providing senior leadership for integrating, configuring, and maintaining secure and reliable connectivity between medical and non-medical devices, hospital networks, and cloud platforms. The role acts as the primary point of contact for hospital IT and internal teams to ensure the installed base is connected, monitored, and performant to enable safe and efficient clinical and operational workflows.
Responsibilities
- Connectivity Strategy & Model Ownership: Define and own the standard connectivity model for platforms across hospitals and regions; translate business and clinical requirements into network and connectivity architectures.
- Network Design, Integration & Deployment: Design and validate network configurations with hospital IT, biomedical engineering, and clinical informatics; ensure secure integration into hospital networks and identity management frameworks; oversee multi-modality deployments.
- Connectivity Operations & Escalation Leadership: Serve as senior escalation point for high-impact connectivity issues; lead root-cause analysis and corrective action plans; develop runbooks for field service, support, and partners.
- Security, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure designs comply with hospital cybersecurity policies and data protection regulations; translate security assessments into deployment controls; collaborate with cybersecurity teams on vulnerabilities and secure remote access.
- Monitoring, Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Define monitoring standards and KPIs for device and network connectivity; track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across the installed base.
- Cross-Functional & Vendor Leadership: Coordinate with Product, Service, Digital/IT, and Commercial teams; manage relationships with third-party vendors and ensure integration into the standard model; provide guidance and training on connectivity standards.
- Documentation, Governance & Enablement: Maintain connectivity playbooks, reference architectures, and site readiness checklists; contribute to governance forums with updates on risks, readiness, and performance; mentor connectivity specialists and field teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT, hospital networking, or medical device integration, including direct work with hospital IT organizations.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting complex network environments (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, TLS/handshakes).
- Experience integrating medical and non-medical devices with hospital EMR, PACS, LIS, and other clinical/operational systems; familiarity with HL7, DICOM, and related standards.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing without direct authority, and managing external vendors or partners.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity controls in clinical environments and experience with hospital security and compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional communication and executive-level presentation skills, with ability to translate technical issues into clear business impact and action plans.

Education

- Location: Santa Clara, California; remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis within the United States; travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
