Role Summary
The Manager Maint Utilities WWTP is an integral part of the Maintenance team at the Willow Island, WV site. The role manages and coordinates maintenance, utility, environmental, WWTP, and utility engineering activities for the Willow Island Plant in a safe, cost-efficient manner. Location: US - Willow Island, WV. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (Standard Work hours).
Responsibilities
- Performs the responsibilities of this job to ensure that the plant can reliably manufacture products at a cost lower than our competitors.
- Provides associated technical expertise and consultation.
- Responsible for proper organization and functioning of assigned personnel.
- Ensures the highest reliability of the plant equipment through proper utilization of the equipment, Maintenance Management System, technician expertise, and continued improvement of the plant’s preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Promotes sound labor relations management within the plant.
- Performs all relative aspects of this position in a manner that protects the health and safety of our employees, plant, plant neighbors, customers, and the environment in which we live.
- Ensures that all utilities are supplied to the plant without interruption. This includes steam, air, natural gas, WWTP, well water, tower water, refrigeration, electricity, and potable water.
- Mantains a positive relationship with Syensqo to ensure efficient operation of WWTP.
- Promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, and total productive maintenance throughout all levels under this direct supervision.
- Assists in the preparation of work plan or schedule for the Maintenance, Utility, WWTP Functions.
- Makes certain that WWTP and all utility equipment is properly maintained and readily available.
- Responsible for major decisions on utility outages to avoid unsafe operations and equipment damage.
- Initiates projects, suggests equipment and promotes high reliability.
- Prepares annual maintenance, utility, WWTP, and environmental budgets and manage these budgets throughout the year.
- Responsible for ensuring facility compliance with WWTP and environmental issues as they relate to manufacturing.
- Provides all production areas with necessary utilities on a consistent basis.
- Promotes an effective safety and housekeeping program to ensure safe work conditions.
- Responsible for justification, selection, training, and discipline of supervisory and operational personnel.
- Responsible for identifying maintenance work and maintaining an effective backlog list.
- Provides management with competent supervisory assistance to coordinate and monitor operations.

- Strong understanding of ASME Code Repair Work
- Strong understanding of utilities including process air, instrument air, chilled water, tower water, etc.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of maintenance including reliability, preventative and predictive maintenance, mechanical and instrument work.
- Strong experience in capital execution to maintain a maintenance and utilities department.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
- Seven (7) years of maintenance management experience, preferably dealing with utilities, and maintenance relative to chemical-based manufacturing.
- Five (5) years supervisory experience with responsibility for professional and non-professional employees.
