Role Summary

The Manager, Global Procurement β€šΓ„Γ¬ Corporate Affairs & Public Relations will support and assist in developing and implementing the overall strategy for the Commercial Communications Area (Advertising, CA/PR, Media and Promotional Medical Communications) with a lead role in Corporate Affairs/Public Relations strategy. The role involves gathering and anticipating business supply needs and specifications, advising commercial teams on market supply dynamics, proactively managing a supply base, and ensuring quality and cost effectiveness by collaborating with colleagues and business partners. This position leverages Procurement & Category Management experience to anticipate future business requirements for Regeneron's growing commercial activities. This role is based at the Corporate HQ in Sleepy Hollow, NY and requires onsite presence 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for supporting the definition and implementation of the Global Commercial Communication & Corporate Affairs/Public Relations Category strategies to serve global and regional business needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to manage discussions and align category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders.
  • Leverage analytical and negotiation skills to drive cost competitiveness; provide financial insights and recommendations to enable decision making.
  • Drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from agency activities.
  • Support Global Procurement by participating in organizational decisions in the Commercial Communications categories with critical short and long-term impact on the study team's success, efficiency, growth, and results.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support growth and evolution of Global Procurement, driving improvements aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Manage category study activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulations, as applicable.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law department aligned with Regeneronβ€šΓ„Γ΄s priorities and business requirements, as needed.
  • May directly or through a matrix structure manage teams of professional-level employees responsible for performing category management tasks (if applicable).
  • Use data to drive decision-making for successful category study projects.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple spend categories within a procurement team.
  • Sophisticated negotiation skills and proficiency utilizing data to build business cases.
  • Cost modeling knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build consensus across a diverse, collaborative team with limited supervision.
  • Program / project management experience.
  • Ability to build influential relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive results.
  • Integrity, focus, and clarity; ability to thrive in an evolving working environment.
  • Proficiency with standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing data (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Desire to impact the future of a growing Global Procurement team.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 7+ years progressive experience in procurement and category management across a breadth of categories. Working knowledge of sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFx systems (e.g., Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba) preferred.
