Purpose
The primary function of the Manager, Global Portfolio Management is to manage their assigned portfolio of projects using standardized project management tools and processes to drive successful outcomes for Clinical Sciences and AbbVie.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders to lead the design and implementation of strategic, cross-functional projects for Clinical Sciences.
- Provide project management support, including project planning scenarios, identification/monitoring/analysis of risks, action item tracking, and organization/communication of team materials.
- Lead project team meetings using governance processes to escalate and support resolution of project issues; facilitate decision-making on strategy and deliverables.
- Collaborate with management, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and teams inside/outside Clinical Sciences to implement cross-functional solutions.
- Build working relationships; communicate effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders (oral and written).
- Prepare status reports and dashboards to track risks, mitigation plans, and roadblocks; facilitate resolution.
- Support deliverable preparation and may own select individual deliverables.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years professional work experience with 3+ years supporting projects/programs from strategy through implementation (e.g., capability development, operating model transformation, change management, process improvement).
- Basic project management capabilities: best practices, risk analysis/mitigation, change management support, stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with both global and regional pharmaceutical industry teams.
