Role Summary

Manager, Forecasting. Responsible for providing forecasting support to the commercial organization for either Acadia’s neuroscience or rare disease franchise, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Patient Service, Finance, Manufacturing, and other functions. Develop annual budget forecasts, latest estimates, long-range planning, and situational assessments using historical performance, market insights, and company initiatives. Communicate effectively across management levels and work cross-functionally to establish realistic product performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support global forecasting efforts with commercial leadership (US, Canada, EU), brand/franchise leads, patient services and finance to develop multi-year monthly patient, unit, and revenue forecasts for neuroscience or rare disease products.
  • Provide demand (patients on product, shipments, units) and revenue estimates for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end performance to leadership, finance, and investor relations groups.
  • Design, build, and maintain forecasting models and predictive analytics; apply data-driven methodologies.
  • Incorporate novel forecast approaches to advance the forecasting function.
  • Maintain monthly financial and manufacturing forecasts; annually revise long-range forecast with Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Managed Markets.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to build robust assumptions and forecast inputs.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Present and defend forecast approach, methodology, assumptions, and outputs to management.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Analysis, Insights and Operations peers on modeling, data, and market research needs; respond to senior leadership requests.
  • Ensure forecasting activities comply with financial and ethical guidelines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; MS/MBA preferred. 5+ years in Commercial or Sales Operations with at least 2 years forecasting experience in pharmaceutical and/or life sciences; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Required: Proven experience using analytical and forecasting methodologies leveraging historical demand, primary/secondary research, and team inputs to design and maintain forecasting models (MS Excel and/or other tools).
  • Required: Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies (including EPI and historical trend approaches) and quantitative techniques to produce accurate forecasts.
  • Required: Advanced modeling skills with MS Excel or forecasting/statistical software; strong reporting capabilities.
  • Required: Excellent analytical reasoning, financial acumen, problem-solving, and the ability to think creatively and strategically to answer business questions.
  • Required: Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills; ability to interact with all levels of management, cross-functional colleagues, and vendors.
  • Required: Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to present at executive levels and discuss details.
