Role Summary

Manager, Forecasting provides forecasting support to the commercial organization for Acadia’s neuroscience or rare disease franchise, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Patient Service, Finance, Manufacturing, and other functions. You will help establish realistic and accurate product performance expectations through advanced forecasting techniques and sound judgment. This role includes developing annual budget forecasts, latest estimates, long-range planning, and situational assessments, incorporating historical performance and market insights. Location: Princeton, NJ or San Diego, CA; hybrid model requires in-office work three days per week on average.

Responsibilities

  • Support global forecasting efforts by working with commercial leadership (US, Canada, EU), brand/franchise leads, patient services and finance to develop multi-year monthly patient, unit, and revenue forecasts for products in the neuroscience or rare disease franchise, leveraging historical performance, market insights, and team inputs.
  • Provide demand (patients on product, shipments, units) and revenue estimates for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end performance to commercial leadership, executive team, brand leads, finance, and investor relations groups.
  • Design, build, and maintain accurate, actionable forecasting models and predictive methodologies/analytics.
  • Identify and incorporate novel forecast approaches to advance the forecasting function at Acadia.
  • Maintain monthly financial and manufacturing forecasts and annually revise the long-range forecast with Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Managed Markets.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to build a robust assumptions library and forecast inputs.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and quantify the impact of assumption differences; propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Present and defend forecast approach, methodology, assumptions, and output to multiple levels of management.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Analysis, Insights and Operations peers on modeling, data, and market research needs; communicate issues and respond to senior leadership requests.
  • Ensure forecasting activities are conducted in compliance with financial and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance or related field; Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Required: 5+ years in Commercial or Sales Operations with at least 2 years’ experience in forecasting in the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry.
  • Required: Proven experience in using various analytical and forecasting methodologies leveraging historical product demand, primary and secondary research insights, and team inputs to design, build, and maintain accurate forecasting models using MS Excel and/or other forecasting applications.
  • Required: Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies (including EPI and historical trend approaches) and quantitative techniques to produce accurate product launch and in-line forecasts.
  • Required: Demonstrated advanced modeling skills using MS Excel and/or forecasting/statistical software, along with reporting applications.
  • Required: Excellent analytical reasoning, financial acumen, and problem-solving capabilities; ability to think creatively and strategically to solve key business questions.
  • Required: Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills; ability to interact with all levels of management, cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Required: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present at the executive level and dive into detail.
  • Preferred: MS/MBA in a relevant field.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance or related field.
  • MS/MBA preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical requirements: regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds; ability to travel independently overnight as required by business needs.
