Role Summary
Manager, Finance responsible for forming partnerships with stakeholders, supporting quarterly close, budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring SOX compliance to support our clinical development programs.
Responsibilities
- Form and maintain strong business partnerships and become the key resource to stakeholders within other departments
- Review and approval of purchase orders, ensuring all finance related matters are addressed and the efficiency of the overall process
- Completion of monthly close accurately and timely, including creation of journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis commentary to be presented at the monthly close meetings
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and accounting policy and procedures
- Maintain control of key areas of balance sheet and support external audit
- Monthly variance analysis to drive accountability and influence corrective action recommendations as needed
- Establishing and managing our budgets and financial forecasts, working with key business stakeholders and external vendors (e.g. CROs)
- Utilize appropriate analytics and benchmarks to produce an accurate, quality study model that is updated regularly, while maintaining constant fiscal vigilance on trial spend and trends
- Other ad-hoc requests or projects as needed
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- Required: Minimum of 5+ years of working finance experience within financial planning or accounting
- Required: Knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP, and SOX compliance requirements
- Required: Strong financial acumen with a value creation mindset
- Required: Strong oral and written communications inclusive of presentation abilities
- Required: Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong working relationships with business partners
- Required: High sense of urgency with the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Preferred: Life sciences industry experience, particularly supporting research and development/clinical trials
- Preferred: MBA or CPA a plus
