Role Summary

Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of the organization, directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The role includes managing cleaning schedules, scheduling repairs and renovations, waste reduction, and safety inspections, while overseeing budget and vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and supervises facility management services including building and facility operating systems maintenance, repair and improvement and custodial services; establishes procedures, practices and priorities for effective operations and cost factors; coordinates activities to optimize production and utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Oversees programs such as validation, calibration, PM, BM, Purified Water, Pest Control, Environmental & Safety, parts procurement and management, permits maintenance, sanitization, engineering SOPs implementation and training.
  • Supervises, trains and evaluates staff; establishes and enforces operating and safety standards; assigns work, resolves problems, and ensures timely completion of services.
  • Coordinates preparation of the division's budget; monitors expenditures; analyzes staffing requests; negotiates and administers service and construction agreements for maintenance and alteration services.
  • Plans and assigns activities with other divisions/departments for projects involving construction and remodeling.
  • Performs periodic inspections of facilities, machines, buildings and HVAC systems; monitors maintenance performance and investigates unusual trends, advising on adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Manufacturing, Equipment and Facility Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical or related field — Required
  • Experience: 5+ years in Manufacturing, Equipment and Facility Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical or related field; 3+ years in management of people or projects; 3+ years in cGMP and Pharmaceuticals
  • Skills: Team building, communication, writing, planning, leadership, supervising, decision-making, and goal-setting
